Learn morePros and Cons of using lasers and other modalities for pigmentation
Can laser remove sun damage on the body and the face and…..is it worth the possible risks, You have a wonderful summer in the sun or skiing in the winter and out of no where you start seeing those darn brown spots. Sometimes they start small and grow and get darker over time or they just pop out of no where. Those darn spots can be caused by many factors, hormone changes, sun exposure or something called melasma. They can also be pre-cancer which can be quite concerning. There are many options to treat these spots and working with your aesthetician and dermatologist is the best option for your best care. You can pulverize them with lasers, ie IPL or a lighter versions Clear and Brilliant or using peels, bleaching creams, or other abrasive products that can give pretty great quick fix results but the underlaying issue will still be there, which is INFLAMMATION. If you do not address this issue your skin it cannot heal and you can have rebounding from most of your treatments or products. Working to strengthen your skin barrier is of the upmost importance in helping to combat inflammation. We have many suggestions to help with this issue and we are happy to discuss at your next treatment or consultation. Products that contain good quality vitamin c, ectoin, hyaloronic acid, tranzsemic acid, niacinimide, bakuchoil, lactic acid and a very good low dose retinol or retin-a can help. The new exesomes products from PLATED are an excellent addition to healing the skin barrier which again can help in treating your pigmentation. Be very aware of blue light exposure. We have been doing PRX (wiqo) at the studio for a few years now on both face and body and the results are startling. This series of four treatments works by penetrating the deeper layers of skin to stimulate collagen and growth factors that help heal the skin from within. There is no downtime to this treatment and many of our clients add this to their monthly treatments or even for that red carpet glow. We also use this on the body to tone the skin of the arms, legs and stomach. The results are incredible. Our microneedling treatments with exesomes are incredible to add in to help strengthen the barrier and working with your at home products can have a great benefit on pigmentation. We highly recommend the LYMA LASER for home use. Please if you have any questions I am here to answer your skin care needs jai
Learn morePROBIOTICS AND SKIN HEALTH
If your gut health is not balanced your skin can have an unhealthy appearance and your topical skin care products will not be able to work efficiently. I have been recommending probiotics for over 25 years. The brand I love is NATREN and specifically their product called TRENEV TRIO. This potent probiotic contains a minimum 30 billion of three potent, super strains of beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus bulgaricus. This potent probiotic can help balance your gut health and you will notice within a few months that you skin will be healthier. Spor probiotics are now being used in sunblocks and other skin products. They have a unique form which allows them to survive in harsh conditions, such as high temperatures and low ph levels making them more resistant to environmental stressors. There are many companies venturing into this market but I would caution you to do your research to see where the ingredients are coming from and be sure you check their scientific data. Natren Trenev Trio probiotics have to be refridgerated so just be aware of this when purchasing . All my best J'ai
Learn moreUnderstanding Stem Cells and Exesomes in the Skin Care Industry
As a skin care professional I have been lucky enough to be educated by some of the best Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists as well as other professionals in the field of Exesomes and Stem cells. Here is a quick guide to help you understand. After micro needling or other types of induction that cause infllammation, exesomes or stem cells are applied to allow the skin to stay in the remodeling phase of healing, ensuring the skin has time to rejuvenate. We really see a remarkable change in our clients’ skins when they do this treatment A lot of clients are now asking about face lifts with Stem Cells or Exesomes. I would caution anyone before doing anything like this. Remember these products can turn on cells that are dormant if they are deeply injected into the body. I believe eventually this will be the way of the future of regenerative medicine but more research etc needs to be done. Jai’s studio now offers an Exesome at home product called Plated. This is an award-winning treatment from that has a new technology called Renewosome. This product has been clinically proven to work within six weeks, reducing signs of pigmentation, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles and reducing redness in the skin. Hope this very brief explanation is helpful. If you ever need more information I am happy to help . Best J'ai
Learn moreEyelash and Mascara tips and tricks
There are so many different types of mascara on the market now. There are mascaras for lengthening, thickening, curling etc. Which one is right for you? If you want a natural look a mascara that will just coat the lashes will be best for you. If you are wanting to bring attention to the eyes a thickening one or lengthening can be a good choice. Curling your lashes before the application of mascara is such a simple trick to help give you a wider eye look. I really like the Shu Uemura Lash Curler it just works. Put the eyelash curler as close to the base of the lashes as you can get. Squeeze tightly for a few seconds, release then walk the curler out along the length of the lashes, squeezing as you go. If you apply your mascara at the base of the lash root this will help lift the lashes and will give the illusion of a more open eye. I strongly recommend that my clients use a good eye lash comb that separates the lashes. If you want a softer look for the day choose a brown mascara or even a nice navy or burgundy mascara. I love using individual lashes or a full strip to create various looks. Always curl the lashes before application of false lashes. I always apply a soft application of mascara before application of the lashes and finish with another application of mascara. My favorite mascara for my own personal use is the DIOR SHOW by Christian Dior. I have tried numerous mascaras but always go back to this beautiful formula.
Learn moreCompetition in our Industry,
I was out walking today and thinking about how our industry plays with our self- esteem. I became a make-up artist and an aesthetician when I was 18 years old. The decision to do this came from mostly circumstances and definitely divine guidance. When I started doing facials and makeup it was before MAC cosmetics was on the market, I actually helped open one the first locations ever with an amazing Canadian artist Francis Hathaway. At the time MAC had maybe 12 eyeshadows and 12 blush contours etc. funny how things have changed over the years. but I digress.. I was never formally trained, I didn't go to art school to study. I learnt my craft on the job watching and working with Models and Photographers and training with skin care companies and reading... alot and constantly. I remember feeling these old feelings way back then of not being talented enough,, a deep sense of being inadequate., alot probably from my childhood but also how our industry is set up to create competition constantly. ... "Who is the best new Makeup artist, Who is the best Facialist, Who the best Hair Stylist etc...highlighted from the Magazines, Tv shows and now Social Media. I know it helps sell magazines and products and helps promote various businesses etc. but I grew to learn that the choosing of who would be highlighted was also a business in itself. Don't get me wrong all of these artist have every right to be there as they are truly gifted artist and have worked so hard to get this recognition but again who decides who is the BEST. I have been highlighted over the past 40 years in many of these magazines for Best of the Best but even when I would be featured I would read the article and be happy for a minute but it really didn't change anything. It is nice to be recognized but again who is to say who is the Best? I have had a brilliant career and continue to work hard to take care of my clients and the amazing people that work with me but I really felt the need to speak about this issue to the many many make-up artist and aestheticians that are NOT featured in these articles or work at the Elite Top Salons or Spas. I am here to tell you if you are trying to do the best you can for your clients and striving to be a good person in this chaotic world you are Valuable and you are HIGHLIGHTED in my Best of the Best, if that means anything to you. If you are running a small business in Kansas, Montana, Toronto, Idaho or working in New York struggling to be the best you can be, you are doing what you were made for. You are a talented artist and a healer, never forget this. You are here to serve your community in a way that only you can do. I am proud of you. Best Jai Jai of Beverly Hills

Learn moreExesomes and Stem Cells
Exosomes and stem cells are both important components in regenerative medicine, but they have distinct characteristics and functions. Exosomes and Stem Cells can be used for reinvigorating aging, sagging facial skin and for stimulating hair growth. The results of these treatments can change the look of your skin, making it tighter and brighter. Her is some information on the difference in stem cell or exesome treatment.Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to develop into specialized cell types in the body. They play a crucial role in tissue repair and regeneration. Stem cells can be sourced from various places, such as bone marrow, adipose tissue, or umbilical cord blood. On the other hand, exosomes are tiny extracellular vesicles that are released by cells. They contain various biomolecules, such as proteins, RNA, and lipids, which enable them to carry out cell-to-cell communication. Exosomes can be thought of as "messengers" as they transfer information and molecules between cells. While stem cells have the potential to differentiate into different cell types, exosomes are involved in signaling and modulating cellular processes. Exosomes can deliver their cargo to target cells and influence their behavior, such as promoting tissue repair, modulating inflammation, or enhancing cell survival. In summary, stem cells have the ability to differentiate and become different cell types, while exosomes function as communication vehicles between cells, delivering signals and molecules to influence cellular behavior. Both stem cells and exosomes have promising applications in regenerative medicine, but they work through different mechanisms.
