WHY should you use RETINOL OR RETIN-A

More than 50 years ago Retin-A was approved to treat acne and since then Vitamin A topicals have been helping fight fine lines and treat other skin conditions. Many of my clients have been using prescription Retin-A for years and have seen great results. However, using Retin-A can cause sun sensitivity and/or irritated and dry skin but generally this settles after a few months. I always recommend using a good sunblock especially if you are using Retin-A.

Retinols are a different topical Vitamin A and no prescription is required. If you want glowy healthy skin you should consider adding Retinol to your skin care program. Retinols tend to be less irritating and can cause less sun sensitivity.  Retinols help boost collagen production and improve cell turnover, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tones, blemishes and acne scars.

Retinols We Recommend

My studio carries two Retinol products: Darphin Retinol Complex which has a  gentle delivery system that I recommend for clients who have sensitive skin. I  recommend using this Retinol every night under your treatment products for best results.

Our second product is Neocutis Retinol which is a much stronger product.  For best results I recommend using it once a week in the evenings for a month and then build up to two to three times a week.

Whichever you choose to use in your skin program you will not be disappointed with the ultimate results. If you have any questions or want product recommendations for your specific skin care needs, please don’t hesitate to contact me, jai@jaiofbeverlyhills.com
